on 091914, it was AC Iloilo Open House 2014!
~
that's when AC opens its doors to other schools and to parents as well for observation of classes and to share our talents with others.
~
the LCBA or the student council was in charge of the registration booth and the tours of the school, so we didn't have class for the whole day.
~
it was pretty fun, especially since our guests from other schools were really young, and it was nice to spend time with my LCBA fam :>

last Thursday, it was my Speak-A-Minute for Math class.
~
this means that we get to speak for a minute about the topic that your teacher assigned, and in this case, it was pretty much anything related to math.
~
everyone spoke about (and still are) shortcuts on the basic operations of math, and for some reason, when I looked for these, I couldn't find any.

*raises hands in the air like what*
~
so, I decided to do what I do best! or well, what I'm decent at: writing.
~
I turned my Math SAM into a reflected thought, and I'm kinda proud of it, so here it is:
~
Life is random, don't you think? We really don't know what's going to happen to us everyday, it's all pretty blurry. We never have a clear view of the future events in our life because we can't see the future. There's one being though that has this structure, or plan, of what's going to happen over the course of our life, and He's the one who designed it: God the Father. I think a lot about what has happened in my life, what is happening, what will happen, and one constant question is why. This is me trying to decipher the blueprints God has made of my life, and at this point, I don't think I really get it yet. Here's where the numbers come in. Almost everything in our lives can be calculated: from our age, our height, the time it takes us to do anything and everything, the temperature of the air we breathe, and even the probability of certain events happening in our lives. If numbers can calculate what will happen in our lives, like how they calculate chance, then I guess numbers are the closest thing we can get to interpreting what God wrote in all His designs of our lives. This is why we have Math all over the world and why numbers are one of the first things we learn as kids; because when you really get down to it, we're all just trying to understand, and if numbers are this universal language that even God Himself used to create our stories, then maybe it's a good thing that we have this subject, because this is what brings us one step closer to realizing what we're actually doing here and what's going to happen to us in the end. Basically, numbers are the closest thing we have in understanding God's handwriting and Math is how we decipher it. It may not be exactly what we're looking for, but it's all we have. Now, I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of my time trying to understand what the heck's going on in my life, and if Math is one more way for me to do that, then a slight headache for fifty minutes a day is worth it. It's definitely something to be thankful for.

Good Morning! :D

reflected thoughts on hope:
~

Hope can be either a positive or a negative thing. Sometimes when you've given up on everything, hope is what keeps you going. Hope is what will bring you from your death to your resurrection, and that's why it's positive, because it represents new beginnings and second chances and renewal. When you're at the verge of giving up, hope will be there. It may be just a sliver of hope, but there will be hope, there always is, because we are all entitled to hope. We all have hope, because life is a choice, and choice contradicts destiny, which means that if we choose it and choose to work for it, we may get the outcome we desire.

Yes, things usually seem to go right at first… but here's the catch. When your hopes are high, you are willingly allowing yourself to think that everything will be okay, which of course makes you expect that you will get your happily ever after, but have you ever heard the quote, "Life is a roller coaster?" Well, let's just say that sometimes when your hopes are high, the roller coaster's dip is deep and unexpected. High hopes can turn out to be just that: a hope. Keep in mind that hopes aren't concrete. Hopes are desires; what do you wish to happen in your life? That's what you hope for. You can't always get what you want though, and that's why hopes aren't concrete, because most of the time, they remain as they are, a positive presumption. It is rare and beautiful if what you hope for is given to you, and there's nothing wrong with wanting things to be okay. All I'm saying is that hope is dangerous too. Stay wary.

If I were you though, I'd take the risk. Even a sliver of hope can be enough to keep you going  in the most dire situations, and when you've finally conquered your problem, you'll be thankful.

reflected thought of 091014:
~
I know this guy who has this theory that if you don't care that much about anything in life, it makes it all way easier. In a way, it's kind of true, because when you don't care, you're neither positive nor negative. Since you can't feel the negative, you can't feel bad. You don't feel pain either because you didn't give it enough importance for it to hurt. So, what's the harm, right? A world without pain seems like something anyone would welcome… but the thing is, everything has a positive and negative side. The negative side to this theory is that when you don't care, sure, your life is rid of negativity, but it also takes away the positivity. You don't laugh until you're red, your heart doesn't swell with happiness, and smiles don't stretch your face like they should. When you don't care, you don't live. You simply exist, and that's the most horrible way to waste a life that I've ever known.

[ HI I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A WHILE AND I FEEL HORRIBLE SO ]
~
Yesterday's reflected thought: I guess maybe beauty isn't really such a forthcoming thing. Sometimes we see someone for the the first time and all we look at is their face, their body, and we think, "Oh, so beautiful," but I think true beauty is found in the little things: when you laugh so hard that you start choking, when tears fall slowly down your face, when you don't have the time to cover yourself up, when you can't help but be yourself... maybe that's beauty. Beauty isn't forthcoming because showing yourself to someone takes time. If you don't care enough to take time to wait for someone to show their true selves to you, then I'm sorry, but I don't think you can call them beautiful.
