last Thursday, it was my Speak-A-Minute for Math class.
~
this means that we get to speak for a minute about the topic that your teacher assigned, and in this case, it was pretty much anything related to math.
~
everyone spoke about (and still are) shortcuts on the basic operations of math, and for some reason, when I looked for these, I couldn't find any.

so, I decided to do what I do best! or well, what I'm decent at: writing.
~
I turned my Math SAM into a reflected thought, and I'm kinda proud of it, so here it is:
~
Life is random, don't you think? We really don't know what's going to happen to us everyday, it's all pretty blurry. We never have a clear view of the future events in our life because we can't see the future. There's one being though that has this structure, or plan, of what's going to happen over the course of our life, and He's the one who designed it: God the Father. I think a lot about what has happened in my life, what is happening, what will happen, and one constant question is why. This is me trying to decipher the blueprints God has made of my life, and at this point, I don't think I really get it yet. Here's where the numbers come in. Almost everything in our lives can be calculated: from our age, our height, the time it takes us to do anything and everything, the temperature of the air we breathe, and even the probability of certain events happening in our lives. If numbers can calculate what will happen in our lives, like how they calculate chance, then I guess numbers are the closest thing we can get to interpreting what God wrote in all His designs of our lives. This is why we have Math all over the world and why numbers are one of the first things we learn as kids; because when you really get down to it, we're all just trying to understand, and if numbers are this universal language that even God Himself used to create our stories, then maybe it's a good thing that we have this subject, because this is what brings us one step closer to realizing what we're actually doing here and what's going to happen to us in the end. Basically, numbers are the closest thing we have in understanding God's handwriting and Math is how we decipher it. It may not be exactly what we're looking for, but it's all we have. Now, I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of my time trying to understand what the heck's going on in my life, and if Math is one more way for me to do that, then a slight headache for fifty minutes a day is worth it. It's definitely something to be thankful for.
